A space where words can circulate
A men's circle is a regular space for meeting, speaking and exploring among men. It offers the possibility to talk about subjects that often have little room elsewhere: couple relationships, fatherhood, sexuality and intimacy, work, pressure and success, separations, loneliness, life changes, anger, fear, vulnerability, the relationship with the body, or the difficulty of knowing what one feels or wants.
There is no need to arrive with a particular problem. Some men come because they are going through a difficult period; others simply because they want to understand themselves better, step out of certain automatic patterns, or experience another way of being in relationship with other men.
The circle has no imposed theme for each session: the work is built from what the participants bring and from what emerges in the group.
The circle welcomes men from Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona and the surrounding area.
How it unfolds
How does a session work?
Letting the words circulate
Then speaking circulates from the experiences, situations or questions brought by the participants. The group can also become a space for experimentation: observing what happens in the relationship with others, putting an emotion into words, exploring a difficulty, trying another way of communicating.
Staying with what is there
Sometimes it is simply about staying with what is felt rather than immediately trying to resolve it. There is no obligation to reveal anything and no obligation to speak: each man remains responsible for his own rhythm and for what he wishes to share.
Frame and facilitation
My role in the group
I facilitate the circle as a Gestalt therapist. My role is above all to create and maintain a frame that is safe enough to allow authentic speaking: respect for each man, confidentiality, absence of judgement, and attention to what is happening in the group.
I may offer questions, draw attention to certain emotions or relational dynamics, invite slowing down or going deeper into an experience and, when it is relevant, suggest small experiments drawn in particular from Gestalt therapy.
I am not there to tell participants what they should think or do, nor to give ready-made solutions. The work consists rather in helping each man become aware of his way of being in relationship with himself and with others, and possibly to discover new possibilities.
The group over time
Why a regular group?
Much of the richness of a circle comes from the trust that builds over successive meetings. This is why participants are asked to be able to commit to a certain regularity. It is not a one-off workshop that one attends occasionally: the presence of each man progressively contributes to creating the group.
Confidentiality is essential: what is shared in the circle stays in the circle.
